The Nevada Culinary Union has established a position which favors benefits provided by private commercial insurance, as opposed to single-payer or universal health care. Information and Disinformation (lies) will become the business of the current 2020 American political campaign. How will Americans/Union members be able to differentiate the truth from lies?

Medicare Advantage plans are attracting consumers, while the insurance companies turn over huge profits.  Do these plans really help us, the consumers, as they claim, or is their real purpose to deceive? If a person gets ill, often times Medicare Advantage plans do not protect enrollees from high fees or worse, from not being covered for a procedure. 

A study published in The Lancet medical journal found that $450 billion would be saved every year if the United States converted to a single-payer, Medicare for All healthcare system. It also concluded that lower income families would greatly benefit from a single-payer system.  Eliminating the current reality of profit over people, is another significantly positive factor.

The healthcare industry is heavily involved with lobbying and has spent over $2 billion dollars in the past four years spreading an abundance of propaganda about healthcare, insurance and Medicare for All.

The American College of Physicians has endorsed single payer, universal healthcare as a means to solving our health care crisis.  Their 43-page position paper was published in the Annals of Internal Medicine on January 20, 2020 and is entitled "Envisioning a Better U.S. Health Care System for All: Coverage and Cost of Care".

President of National Nurses United and a nurse for 40 years in Minnesota, Jean Ross testified before Congress, describing the U.S. complex, unaffordable private health insurance model based on corporate profiteering. She related the only way to achieve cost-sustainable universal health care access is the Medicare-for-All insurance model.

Chuck Idelson, from National Nurses United (NNU), shares stories which illustrate why Medicare for All would give everyone the care they need, whenever they needed it.  No one should be denied care because of high drug prices or over-priced billing. 

Robert Reich created a video which breaks down how much an average family currently spends on healthcare and then compares that amount to what it would cost if we had Medicare for All here in the United States. The only logical conclusion: We need Medicare for All and we need it now.
